Folding paper boats is not difficult!

Folding paper boats is one of the absolute classics when working with paper . It’s great to play outside in puddles or at home in the bathtub. Or you just make the little bunnies a blue carpet and let them drift across the ocean with the power of your imagination.

For paper boats, there are many different folding guides. In this article, we introduce you to three simple ways you can fold a paper boat.

This is how the catamaran is made:

Step 1

1. First halve the paper in half with a horizontal crease and open it again. Then you fold it from the top and from the bottom edge to the line created at the first kink and open the sheet again. Turn it 90 degrees and repeat the steps. Then bend the square diagonally from both sides in the middle – and open it again.

2. Now fold the sheet from the top and bottom to the middle.

4. Lift this edge a little and pull the inner left corner outwards. It is best to hold the paper in the middle with one finger. Repeat the step with the inner right corner and fold down the upper edge. Turn the paper 180 degrees and repeat steps 3 and 4.

How to fold the barge:

Step 1

1. Place the sheet so that a corner is facing you. Fold this corner to the opposite to a triangle. Then fold the left corner on the right to a smaller triangle. If the paper unfolds again, it turns around and 45 degrees to the right. Fold the bottom of the page up to a rectangle. Fold this in half from left to right to a square.

2. Everything works out again. Turn the sheet 45 degrees to the left and then to. Fold the top and bottom corners to the center, so that both corners are exactly at the center. Also fold the left corner to the middle. Bend it back about half a centimeter from the left edge.

3. Push together the left and right corners with both hands. At the same time you press the structure on the surface in front of you and fold it along the middle mountain fold – so that a square with a shortened side is created.

4. Bend the bottom corner to the center. Bend the corner back. Fold the whole thing apart.

5. Turn over the structure so that it looks like the far left – and looks like a pyramid. Its tip pushes you down with a lot of tact, along the “inner” square.

6. If the tip points down, push the structure back along its existing folds back into the shape of the ship.
